XITE College (Autonomous), marked the celebration of International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and spirit on June 21, 2024. The event was organized by the NSS Department and saw active participation from students and faculty alike.
Yoga Session Led by Expert
The session began with an introduction to the benefits of yoga by Yoga Guru Dulal Patra. He guided the participants through a series of asanas including Shirsasana (Headstand), Mayurasana (Peacock Pose), Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend), Dhanurasana (Bow Pose), Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing), Kapalbhati (Breath of Fire), Bhramari (Bee Breath) and Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation). Each asana was demonstrated with detailed explanations of their physical and mental benefits.
Engagement and Participation
The yoga session saw active participation from 15 dedicated students who followed the asanas with zeal and focus. The event emphasized the importance of integrating yoga into daily life to enhance physical fitness, mental clarity and emotional balance.
The event was graced by the presence of Vice Principal Dr. Fr. Mukti Clarence, NSS Program Officer Naval Narayan Chaudhary, Seema Herenz, Helen Birua and Ashish Singh. Their involvement highlighted the college’s commitment to promoting wellness and holistic development among students.
