On 16th July 2022 the Department of Economics along with the Department of English of XITE College presented a theatrical work on Girish Karnad’s infamous drama, Hayavadana. The event “Curtain Call” was well-attended and enjoyed by the students and faculty members of the fraternity. Ruchi Kumari, Lavish Bopai, Nupur, Supriya Mahanty, Ashwini purty along with their team members conducted the program under the supervision of Prof. Shalukant.
Hayavadana is a 1971 Indian Kannada language two-act play. The plot is based on Kathasaritsagara and Thomas Mann’s retelling of Transposed Heads. Hayavadana presents the story of two friends Devdutta and Kaplia, and their love interest Padmini.
