Successful Conclusion of Orientation Program 2024 at XITE Gamharia

Gamharia, July 31, 2024 – The Orientation Program 2024 at XITE Gamharia, held from July 23rd to July 29th, was a comprehensive and engaging experience that left a lasting positive impact on both students and facilitators. The high attendance throughout the seven days reflected the enthusiasm and eagerness of the incoming students to embark on their academic journey. The program successfully fulfilled its objective of helping students feel at home while providing valuable insights and resources for a successful college experience.

The program commenced with a warm welcome from the Principal, Dr. (Fr.) E. A. Francis, SJ, who addressed the new students, setting a positive tone for the week. Each day was meticulously planned to include a mix of academic sessions, interactive activities and skill-building workshops.

Day 1 Highlights:
The orientation began with a welcome session, introducing the students to the journey of XITE. A multi-religion prayer set a harmonious tone, followed by a fun quiz to engage the students. Dr. Swati Singh conducted an insightful session on time management, emphasizing the importance of effective planning and organization for academic success.

Day 2 Highlights:
The day started with an ice-breaking session by Mr. Tony Castelton, designed to help students connect and build rapport with one another. Mrs. Shraddha Agarwal, an IIM Indore alumna, led a session on the responsible use of IT, highlighting digital etiquette and cybersecurity. The day concluded with a talent hunt showcasing the students’ fitness and artistic skills.

Day 3 Highlights:
Communication skills were the focus of the day, with Assist. Prof. Akinchan Xaxa leading a session on mastering communication. Industry insights were provided by Mr. Ranjot Singh, Chairman of CII Jharkhand, and Mr. Prabhat Kumar, State Head of CII Jharkhand, who discussed recent industrial trends. The day ended with a talent hunt featuring drama and open mic performances, allowing students to express their creativity and talents.

Day 4 Highlights:
An inspiring alumni talk by Akshit Anand offered valuable perspectives on navigating college life and beyond. The day also featured an energetic Zumba session led by Zin Usha Gope and Zin Deepshikha, promoting physical fitness and well-being.

Day 5 Highlights:
Dedicated to social responsibility, the day included a session on “Giving Back to Society” by Mr. Amit Sinha, Founder of Koru Foundation. Students were encouraged to engage in community service and make a positive impact. The talent hunt continued with a focus on dance and music, showcasing the students’ diverse talents.

Day 6 Highlights:
The focus shifted to moral and ethical values with a session on Moral Rearmament by Mr. Gurupada Mahato from TSF. This session emphasized the importance of integrity and ethical behavior in both personal and professional life.

Loyola Day Celebration:
The orientation week culminated in a grand celebration of Loyola Day on July 30th. This day honored the feast day of St. Ignatius of Loyola, fostering a sense of community and empowerment among the students. Mesmerizing cultural performances by the students, under the guidance of Assist. Prof. Akinchan Xaxa and Dr. Radha Mahali, highlighted the day’s festivities.

A heartfelt vote of thanks was extended to all participants and facilitators, expressing gratitude for their invaluable contributions to the program’s success. With this orientation, XITE laid a strong foundation for the incoming batch of students, fostering a sense of community and empowerment that will undoubtedly contribute to their overall growth and success in the institution.

The organizing team, including Dr. Radha Mahali, Assistant Professor Akinchan Xaxa, Assistant Professor Nidhi Kumari and Mr. Ashish Singh, played a pivotal role in ensuring the program’s smooth execution. Their collective efforts, along with the support of Assistant Professor Amit Chaturvedi and Y. Dilip Kumar, made the orientation a memorable and enriching experience for all.
