Partition Horror Remembrance Day on 12/08/2022

XITE College remembered the Partition Horror of 1947 on 12th August 2022. On the occasion of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, which is observed on August 14 in India as a national memorial day that commemorates the victims and sufferings of people during the Partition of India by showcasing the sufferings of the affected people through exhibition. The exhibition depicted how division, reconciliation and transportation left horrifying effects. On the occasion, Prof. Shalu K. delivered a brief lecture on partition and its terrible impact and quoted some famous partition writers such as Bapsi Sidhwa and Manto. She ended the lecture by urging us to remove the poison of social divisions and disharmony and strengthen the spirit of social harmony and human empowerment. Fr. Mukti Clarence ended the event by delivering the message on reconciliation, love and peace. The main aim of organising this programme is to make students and faculty aware of the suffering, pain and agony. The event was well attended by students and faculty.
