XITE College organised a 3-day long Orientation Program for its newly admitted students and introduced to them academic session 2022-26. The program was devised keeping in mind the need to inculcate a sense of value, holistic learning, and an all-round development of the students. The event began on 14th September with the Holy Mass presided by Dr (Fr.) E.A. Francis SJ, (Principal) Fr. (Dr) Mukti Clarence S.J, (Vice Principal) Fr (Dr) Tony S.J, (Principal of Xavier School). The Mass was followed by the lighting of the lamp, Prayer Song, Welcome Note by the Principal, faculty introduction, Welcome Dance, etc.
On the 2nd day of the Orientation programme began with Dr. Pompi Das Sengupta, Assistant Professor, briefing about the different courses, the Scheme of study, various existing facilities and privileges, the newly devised NEP curriculum, a lecture on social awareness by Mr Rajeev Singh, the Inspector of Gamharia thana, and followed by a community dance event organised by the senior student volunteers.
The final day of the Induction Programme began with the students being briefed about the pattern of examination by Prof. Nishit Prashad Singh, about the facilities of the College Library by Mr. Naval, the librarian, and an interactive session by Prof Shalu Kant, and Prof Ria Basu Assistant Professors of Department of English. The students were then introduced to the notable Alumni of the college who have won laurels and earned a name for themselves. The programme was concluded by an educational tour to the XLRI campus supervised by Dr. Pramod, Miss Shalu Kant, Dr. Mahuya and Mr. Shailesh, of the college.
