XITE College, Gamharia, wholeheartedly embraced the call for a cleaner, greener future by observing ‘Swachhata Pakhwada‘ from September 1 to September 15, 2023. This initiative was in alignment with the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for Higher Education Institutions in India, reinforcing our commitment to a cleaner and more sustainable world.
The primary focus of this 15-day event was to sensitize our students and stakeholders to the adverse consequences of single-use plastics and the invaluable benefits of water conservation practices. It was a call to action, reminding us all of the critical role we play in preserving our environment.
Throughout the event, our dedicated faculty members conducted insightful sessions, shedding light on the importance of water conservation and the detrimental effects of single-use plastics. Students were educated about the legislation against single-use plastics and its impact on our ecosystem. They were also made aware of the global challenges associated with plastic pollution and water scarcity and the concerted efforts at the national and global levels to combat these issues.
The impact of Swachhata Pakhwada extended beyond mere knowledge dissemination. It included an effective cleanliness drive undertaken by our enthusiastic students. The event became a call to arms, inspiring practical, positive change both within and beyond our campus.
Our students took the message of sustainability to heart and pledged to reduce their reliance on single-use plastics and actively practice water conservation, not only within the college premises but also in their daily lives.
Swachhata Pakhwada at XITE College was an enlightening and outcome-driven event that left a lasting impression on our community. It reinforced our collective responsibility to protect our environment and work towards a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
Join us in this meaningful journey towards a better world. Together, we can make a difference.
