The Department of economics of XITE College organized a departmental seminar on 20th April, 2023 on the theme; ‘Financial Crisis and the role of IMF and World Bank’. The seminar was well attended by students and faculty of the Department of Economics, English and Commerce. The Coordinator of the Department, Dr. Sanchita Ghosh Chowdhury offered the welcome address and stated the objective of the seminar.
The seminar focused on the role of the IMF and World Bank in assisting economies to overcome the impacts of financial crisis. Dr. (Fr.) Mukti Clarence offered words of motivation and encouragement and enlightened the students. Students of the department gave insights on financial crisis experienced by different countries over time and its impact on those economies. Dr. Rajesh Rana from the Department of Economics summed up the seminar with interesting facts and information. Dr. Radha Mahali from the Department of Economics proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Kashmira Banra was the Master of Ceremony.
