The Christmas spirit lit up XITE Gamharia (Autonomous) on 21st December 2024 with a joyous and heartwarming celebration held at the Xavier School Junior Wing. The event, meticulously organized by the Cultural Club Coordinators and the Branding & Communications Department, emphasized the spirit of love, peace and unity, leaving lasting memories in the hearts of all attendees.
Highlights of the Celebration
1. Welcome Address
The celebration began with an engaging welcome by emcees Shreya and Charlotte, setting the festive tone with warmth and enthusiasm.
2. The Nativity Scene (First-Year Students)
The centerpiece of the evening was a heartfelt play depicting the Nativity Scene. The first-year students reenacted the birth of Jesus Christ with vivid performances, soulful narration, and a moving portrayal of the holy family, angels, shepherds and wise men.
3. Dance Performances
Second-Year Girls: A vibrant medley of traditional and contemporary Christmas-themed choreography.
First-Year Students (Nancy & Group): Graceful and thematic movements reflecting the season’s joy.
Boys (Hostel): High-energy, creative choreography that captivated the audience.
4. Musical Performances
Solo by Shreshtha: A soulful rendition of a classic Christmas hymn.
Carols by Gamharia Christian Youth Members: Traditional carols spreading peace and goodwill.
7 PM Band and Choir: A perfect blend of traditional and modern Christmas carols, creating a magical evening.
5. Inspiring Messages
Dr. (Fr.) E. A. Francis, SJ (Principal): An uplifting Christmas message emphasizing love, unity, and gratitude.
Speech by Assist. Prof. Sushmita Sen Choudhary: A reflection on the relevance of Christmas values in today’s world.
6. Bonfire and Refreshments
The event concluded with a cozy bonfire, fostering togetherness. Guests enjoyed soup and cake, adding warmth and festivity to the celebration.
Acknowledgments
A heartfelt vote of thanks was delivered by Isha Rani Clarence, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, performers, organizers and support staff for their contributions to the success of the event.
