XITE College, Gamharia, proudly culminated its International Women’s Day celebration on March 7th with a grand event that epitomized the spirit of gender equality and women’s empowerment. Organized by a dedicated team of student volunteers and faculty members, the event unfolded with a series of enriching activities designed to honor the achievements of women and foster a culture of inclusivity. This year, we embraced the global theme of “Gender Sanitization,” focusing on a spectrum of vital topics ranging from building relationships and self-knowledge to addressing sexual assault, fostering a healthy self-image and promoting leadership development.
The celebration was graced by the presence of Mrs. Neha Kumari, Manager (Governance Program) of Tata Steel Foundation, who served as the chief guest, adding to the significance of the occasion. The event kicked off with an eloquent introductory speech by Rashmi, followed by a heart-touching song performance by Ayushman. The students of the Economics Department, 2nd year, presented a thought-provoking skit that captured the essence of the day.
Under the leadership of Dr. Swati Singh, Prof. Stuti Rag, Prof. Ajali Jha, Prof. Akinchan Xaxa and Mr. Ashish Singh, the organizing committee showcased an unparalleled commitment to highlighting the importance of gender equality. Their efforts were instrumental in creating a platform that celebrated the immense contributions of women to society.
The event featured a diverse array of performances, including a riveting rap by Amrit Singh, a glamorous ramp walk and various artistic showcases, all of which demonstrated the multifaceted talents of the XITE community. Special recognition was given to the winners of the ramp walk and the painting and poster-making competition, celebrating their creative expressions of gender equality.

The festivities concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where the hard work and creativity of the participants were celebrated. The event was masterfully emceed by B. Harry Robin Toppo and Rishabh Raj Deogam, who ensured a smooth and engaging experience for everyone involved.
In a touching tribute to the women of XITE, female faculty and staff members were honored with tokens of appreciation, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the academic community.
