The Commerce Department’s students have also made significant contributions to research,
reflecting their academic prowess beyond traditional coursework. They have contributed to the
annual research journal of XITE, titled Vimarsh, and the college’s annual magazine, Xavier’s
Chimes. These contributions underscore the department's dedication to fostering a culture of
research, encouraging students to engage deeply with their subjects and think critically.
In addition to academic and research achievements, the department actively promotes
extracurricular activities to support the overall development of its students. Commerce
           Department
students secured the first position in the Central Zone College Online Quiz Competition and
performed well in the Inter College Business Quiz contest. These accomplishments
           demonstrate
their ability to excel in competitive environments and apply their knowledge in diverse settings.
To enhance practical learning, the Department of Commerce has organized various educational
initiatives and events. These include industry visits to Timken India Pvt Ltd and CTC India Pvt
Ltd, providing students with insights into real-world business operations. Workshops on resume
building, personal financial planning, and a two-day workshop on income tax e-return filing—
attended by 37 final-year B.Com students—have further enriched their practical knowledge and
           skills.
The department encourages students to pursue professional courses like CA and CS, with many
currently enrolled in these programs. Additionally, a significant number of graduates have gone
on to pursue higher studies at prestigious institutions, demonstrating the strong academic
           foundation provided by the department.
The Department of Commerce at XITE College continues to excel in academics, research, and
extracurricular activities, contributing to the personal growth of its students and preparing them
to contribute effectively to society, national development, and global competitiveness. By
           providing
equal opportunities for talent development, the department ensures its students are well-
           rounded
individuals ready to face future challenges.
