The Mirror of Time
Aditi was a young aspiring girl who lived with her grandparents in a small town. After
losing her parents as a child, she often felt lost and torn by the weight of her family’s
history. Her grandparents did their best to raise her with love, but the sadness of her past
lingered in her heart.
As a child, Aditi loved listening to her grandmother's stories. One of her favorites was
about a magical mirror of time. According to the story, the mirror had magical powers—it
could show the past and reveal glimpses of the future. Aditi had always wondered if the
story was true and was fascinated by the tale , imagining what it would be like to see such
things, but she had never gone looking for the mirror herself.
One day, while tidying the attic, Aditi stumbled upon something covered in an old cloth.
Pulling it aside, she found the very mirror her grandmother had once described. It was old
and covered in dust, yet something about it felt familiar. Drawn by both curiosity and a
desire for answers, Aditi wiped the mirror clean and stared into the glass.
At first, she saw only her own reflection—a girl who felt lost and confused. But as she
gazed deeper, the mirror began to change. Slowly, it revealed scenes from her past: her
childhood home, her parents’ warm smiles, and moments of pure joy. Then came the sadder
memories—her parents’ absence and the grief that had shaped her life since. Aditi realized
how much her past had influenced who she was, the love she had felt, and the pain she had
endured.
The mirror shifted once again. This time, it showed her visions of her future. In some, she
stood tall and strong, living a life of purpose and happiness. In others, she seemed adrift,
uncertain and fearful. These glimpses were not fixed—they were possibilities shaped by
the choices she had yet to make. Aditi understood that her future was hers to shape.
Lastly, the mirror showed her something unexpected: herself, sitting peacefully in the
present moment, with her eyes closed. It wasn’t about the past or the future—it was about
now. Aditi realized that while her past held valuable lessons and her future offered hope,
her true journey lies within herself, in the present. It was in the choices she made today, in
the courage to confront her fears, and in her ability to embrace the present.
With this sense of clarity and peace, Aditi left the attic. She no longer felt burdened by the
weight of her family’s history or anxious about the future, she had discovered that the true
journey was within her. Each step she took, each moment she lived, was now guided by the
echoes of her past, the promise of her future, and the strength she found in the present.
Aditi was ready to embrace whatever lies ahead, knowing that her path was hers to shape.
