The focus of this article is “changing mindsets for a better you and an improved tomorrow”. Women's safety Annual Magazine
has to be our priority. It's important for everyone to join hands to make India a safer place for women, to work
and live. I am 19 years old and my parents still fear of leaving me alone in the streets of Jamshedpur. They do
not restrict me from going outside, but remain tensed and anxious. I always end up arguing and force them to
open the doors for me. I believe that for a country to feel safe, women must be able to live in it and be able to
engage in all forms of social and economic activities, without the constant threat to her security. Times have
changed, but the mentality still prevails in the mindsets of several narrow minded people.

I strongly believe that the first step and the most important
tool towards women's empowerment is 'education'. An infant
first learns from his/ her mother. All behavior is majorly
incorporated from one's mother, then one's father. All we need
to do is to start with improving our growing-up years. If a
child learns to be deprived in childhood, then he would be
naturally critical of others and the world at large.

We must educate people to be 'HUMANE' first. Educate them
to respect women, to treat them as equals and this must begin
at home with the man of the house taking the lead in this
regard. Laws cannot protect anyone, they are made to
control people the way government wants. A candle march is
also not the way to demand justice for a crime or other incidents. If things need to change, then there's need to
be a change in the mindsets of men, who misbehave and disrespect women. Let's unite together to build a new
and an innovative India, where all women will believe in themselves and in the fact that they are capable of
running a successful life and also be proud on being a 'WOMAN'.
