          polices is a difficult task.
India is presently emerging as an economic super power, but in contrast, there is yet another profile of India.
We mark up around 17% of the World's population, but account for 35% of the poor and 40%of illiterates in
the world as well. In India around 700 Million people in the rural areas are directly dependent on the climate.
Sensitive sectors like agriculture, natural resources and fishery need to be boosted for their subsistence and
livelihoods. Climatic changes and its effects will further reduce the adaptive capacity of dry land farmers,
forest dwellers, fisher folks and nomadic shepherds, all of whom are on a downward trend. Water, soil and air,
which are the vital environmental sources for maintaining life have been shrinking alarmingly.

To meet the challenging situation of widening the economy and social disparity, inclusive growth is the best
tool. However, it will be a dream unless improvement in energy conservation, agriculture improvement and
indigenous production etc. is resorted to.Energy conservation can stave off the impending dangers, but
eventually one cannot conserve what one does not have.

It's time to step up the search for alternate fuel and sustainable development for not only us, but also for the
generations to come. Now is there such a fuel……..? The truth is “NO”! Experts say it is like a mantra,
“There is no Silver bullet…” though a few true believers claim those vast conspiracies or lack of funds, stand
between development and the problem at hand.

We are going to need everything we can get from biomass, everything we can get from solar energy,
everything we can get from wind energy, and still the question remains, can we get enough…?

The big problem is big numbers. The world uses some 320 billion kilo-watt hours of energy a day. This is equal
to 22 bulbs burning non-stop for every person on the planet. It is estimated that within the next century
humanity could use three times more than the present. Fossil fuel has met the growing demand because they
pack million of years of the sun's energy into a compact form, but we will be unable to find the like again.

We really need to conserve energy, so that we could have a better future ahead and our coming generations
could also enjoy the gifts of nature.Energy conservation must be among the utmost priorities of humanity.
Mahatma Gandhi was absolutely right when he said, “the earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs
but not every man's greed”. This statement pretty much sums up the importance of energy conservation.
Immediate implementation of energy conservation measures is certainly of paramount importance.Every
individual and as a group, should take steps to conserve different forms of energy.
         Save Today. Survive Tomorrow…!!
