"Empowering Youth through Service: NSS Initiatives in Action"

NSS stands for National Service Scheme, a voluntary organization launched in India in 1969,
sponsored by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. At
XITE Gamharia, the primary aim of NSS is to develop the personality and character of
students through community service, CII Yi and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. It encourages students
to participate in various social service activities, such as literacy campaigns, health awareness
programs, environmental preservation initiatives and community development projects.

The following is a comprehensive list of the activities conducted by the NSS of XITE College
in the academic year 2024-25:
1. International Yoga Day: On 21.06.2024, participants gathered in the Conference Hall for
International Yoga Day. The event began with lighting the lamp, welcoming everyone, and
emphasizing the significance of yoga in promoting health and well-being.

2. Session on Active Living: NSS organized Session on Active Living on 26-06-2024 to
promote healthy lifestyles through regular physical activity and to educate participants on the
benefits of staying active. Participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive, indicating that
the session was both informative and engaging.

3. Farishtey- Accident First Responder: On July 18, 2024, the Session on Farishtey-
Accident First Responder aimed to promote through “Techniques on life saving Skills”. The
National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of XITE Gamharia with collaboration with CII Yi Road
Safety and EMRI Green Health Services has organized events to mark this occasion,
encouraging participation and awareness among students and Faculties.
4. Tree plantation: Under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Unnat Bharat
Abhiyan on August 05, 2024, first-year students at XITE College are tasked with nurturing a
tree throughout their time on campus. This initiative aims to instill environmental awareness
and provide practical experience in tree care.
5. Cleanliness drive: On Tuesday, 28th Octuber, 17th December, 11th December, 2024
Survey and Cleanliness drive conducted in Kalikapur, Chhota Gamharia Panchayat Bhawan,
and Pindra Bera Panchayat under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
