Message

These days the Country is experiencing socio-political changes and uncertainties. While on the one hand we
observe restlessness, on the other the active voices of youth are a sign of hope. Nevertheless, we need to keep
asking ourselves, while there is a desire in our students for individual welfare and affluence, how many of them
are concerned for welfare of human societies and communities. Often the education we impart focuses on
scoring marks or results. The Latin word educare, the root word of education, means to nourish, bring up, lead
forth, draw out. While we emphasize on the individual development, the social mindset, which orients persons
to commit themselves for common cause, may not get required impetus through our education.

I am happy to know that XITE College, despite many challenges, has been academically doing well, as the
results indicate. Moreover, it also makes efforts to give exposure to students through inputs through coaching
classes in collaboration with T.I.M.E. and IBT. further, securing Grade 'B' in the first cycle of NAAC is
definitely a feather in cap of the College and credit goes to the hard work of College Administration and
Faculty. I am confident that it continues on the path of giving sufficient exposure, through skill development
and other student activities.
In the midst of academic feats, the College should not lose sight of its larger goal of forming social conscience
in students. Without being abstract, it must remember that education takes place within a context and is an
integral part of life realities. For in the words of John Dewey, "Education is not preparation for life; education
is life itself."

I wish and pray that the education mission of XITE College, Gamharia ignite an awareness in the minds of
young men and women, in order to spur them on and give them direction and orientation, so that they become
the torch-bearers of peace and unity in human societies. May God continue to inspire and guide you in this
noble task!
